The Media Team at Christ Community exists to highlight ministries, events, provide places of worship, and ultimately glorify God through all forms of media. We look to do everything with excellence and professionalism. Whether you join us in person, or online, we strive to give our best and tell the ongoing story of God’s faithfulness in our church.
The Media team strives to provide a distraction-free space for our congregation to freely and passionately worship God through the teaching of the Word and the singing of congregational worship songs. Not only does Hebrews 10:25 encourage us to “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching,” but Ephesians 5:19b-20 says “Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” This is our desire, to create space for the congregation of Christ Community to worship together in Spirit and Truth! We believe this starts with a high quality sound and a creative environment to connect with God and each other.
INSPIRE THE GATHERED.
INVITE THE NOT YET GATHERED.
We provide our online streams for those that cannot join us in person and for those not yet gathered. We understand that digital media is a normal way that people connect with the truth of the gospel. We also know that most people will look at services online before they ever show up in person, so we want to have the highest possible quality in how we display who we are as a church.
The livestream is not intended to replace in-person services, as nothing will ever beat gathering together to worship through song, prayer, and the preaching of the Word. However, we also want to allow those who cannot gather, to be able to stay connected to the local church. We offer livestream so that people can attend church online even if they can’t attend church in person.
OVERVIEW OF THE MEDIA TEAMS RESPONSIBILITIES.
-
Sound (FOH/Livestream)
We have multiple sound positions in each space as we run front of house and livestream sound for both contemporary and traditional worship styles. Front of house is mixed on a Soundcraft Vi6 and livestream is mixed on a iMac using a professional ProTools worship template.
-
Screens/Slides
Our screen operators are an important part of the Media Team as they help ensure that the congregation sees the correct lyrics and corresponding verse and main points from the message. Everything is preprogrammed for lyrics and slides and done in ProPresentor.
-
Directing
Directors look to tell a story for our livestream, by guiding and using the shots our camera operators give them. Directors are given the opportunity to create a space for our livestreams to see what is happening in our services, and helping our congregation feel welcome when they are not able to join us in person.
-
Camera Operators
Camera operators look to capture our services in the best possible way. Working with our directors, camera operators are the “eyes” of our livestreams. They are looking for fun and interesting ways to show what is happening in our services on Sundays. Each camera has a specific purpose in the livestream, but there is also creativity allowed as well.
