How to Support Isreal
Over the past days we have watched the horrific evil attack on Israel from Hamas unfold. Many within Christ Community Church have inquired about how we can help beyond praying for them as a nation. Today we received an email from our longtime Ministry Partner at Jews for Jesus with an update from their ministry and practical ways to help a trusted organization.
"Dear Christ Community Church,
I wanted to write to you on behalf of your Jews for Jesus missionary, Chaim & Vered Birnbaum. I wanted you to know how our staff is doing and ways that Christ Community Church could be praying and supporting the people of Israel in this time of need.
The situation on the ground in Israel is extremely fluid and distressing. The number of Israeli men, women, and children murdered has surpassed 1200, with thousands more sustaining injuries. Hundreds remain missing, and many have been taken as hostages by Hamas.
Our Jews for Jesus staff, totaling over 50 in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, have been tirelessly mobilized to help as much as they can. We have been procuring supplies at our Moishe Rosen Center and delivering them to those in need, including on the army bases in the South where the attacks are the strongest. These supplies range from basic essentials like underwear and jackets to critical items such as bulletproof vests. We are purchasing these items as funds become available, with each care package costing approximately $20. We have also assembled packages for displaced families.
In response to the urgency of the situation, several of our staff have been called upon to serve on the front lines in Gaza and in the North, where Hezbollah’s attacks from Lebanon pose a significant threat. We are poised to do whatever is necessary, but we need your help as well.
We ask for your prayers, that the violence and bloodshed may cease, and for God’s protection for those who have survived this horrific terrorist onslaught. We also earnestly covet your prayers for the love of Christ to be poured out in such a way that Israelis will clearly see that Christians care.
